Go on then Apple, steal my bastard thunder
So about this time last year I was raving about a track by Feist called So Sorry. I thought it was lovely, I still do. Anyway, for whatever reason I went and forgot about it. With over 12,000 tracks in my immediate library and an addiction to internet radio it is easily done.
And now Apple have used Feist's brilliant One Two Three Four in their latest iPod Nano ad on the tellybox which means every Tam, Deck and Hurry will be discovering the lovely voice of this truly talented artist BEFORE I had a chance to tell everyone how good it is.
Surely I should be pleased at the recognition but it has always been one of my pet hates when something I rave about becomes popular. I suppose that isn't really that unusual, but why exactly is it I feel like this? Why do I begrudge some advertising executive recognising the talents of somebody great the chance to get their music heard in the most obvious fashion imaginable? In fact I should be delighted considering I've had a track signed to a record label who've specifically set out to have the tune marketed to advertisers. If my track got put on telly I'd be chuffed ot bits of course.
I think I am just being stupid.
At the other end of the scale is Claude VonStroke's The Whistler which is being used in a T-Mobile ad at the minute. I must admit I'd never heard the track before seeing the ad and yet now I love it so much I'd happily play it out in a set, even though everyone who heard it would surely just be thinking "hey isn't this track off the telly?" but who cares? In a world where TV is almost entirely devoid of ANYTHING even REMOTEly (geddit?) worth watching this welcome bit of aural comfort always manages to lighten my mood, and it's in an advert, normally the bain of my life. Oh well.
***Lovely Stuff***
Whilst I am still caning The Girl You Lost To Cocaine mix I mentioned in my previous post I would have to say that today's track of choice is Ida Engberg - Disco Volante (Sebastien Leger Remix) which is bouncy electro fun and I am LOVING electro house at the minute. Breaks are on the backburner as house makes a stunnig return to form. Back of the net

Meh?
So I watched that Magicians the other day, the film with the Peep Show guys in it. For some reason I'd assumed it would be utter shit, and in fact don't think I have spoken to ANYBODY who has seen it. And do you know, it was ok. Not great, but ok.
Just thought I'd mention it like

Fuck you Winamp
Winamp has decided to stop working on my computer, iTunes has never been able to play music files properly, RealPlayer is just as bad and I wouldn't touch Windows Media Player with a shitty stick.
Just what is wrong with my fucking computer?
And don't even get me started on 4oD, irritating waste of time that it is.
I am reduced to the most basic music player there is, Foobar. The modern PC's equivalent of a ghetto blaster compared with a state of the art Bang & Olufsen.
Irritated is not the word.
In other news I've fucked my back again which means I am in severe pain just over a month since I finally had an op to snort the last problem. The upside of this is that I'm back on the codeine, which I have to say I have *REALLY* missed. Perhaps the intense pain is just my body's way of telling me to feed it more painkillers, which I have now done.
**LOVING IT**
